South Carolina accident injures 6

On Sept. 12, an accident on Edgefield Highway near Lake Shore Drive in Aiken County sent six people to the hospital. Emergency personnel transported one of the six individuals to the hospital via helicopter. Officials indicated that they expect all six injured individuals to recover.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of a pickup truck veered out of his lane and struck an SUV before colliding head-on with a van. That transpired at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Officials filed charges against the driver of the pickup truck in connection with the accident. However, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, neither alcohol nor speed appears to have been contributing factors in the crash.

Violent car accidents that wreak significant damage and result in injuries often warrant an exhaustive investigation that can take several weeks to conclude. These probes often indicate who was at fault in the accident and what caused the event to take place. When such an investigation concludes that the accident was caused by negligent or reckless driving, then the people who suffered injuries as a result of the wreck may be eligible to pursue civil action against the at-fault driver.

In this way, accident victims may seek financial restitution for the pecuniary damages they suffered in relation to the accident, such as hospital bills, the expenses associated with intensive medical care and long-term rehabilitation and even lost wages. The truth is that many accident-related injuries result in severe financial stress for victims, especially if their injuries prove to be disabling and prevent them from earning a livelihood. A personal injury lawsuit is a civil remedy available to many accident victims.
