Fatal multiple vehicle car crash in Kershaw County

When an auto accident occurs, it is often a priority of investigators to figure out what events caused it. While there is a long list of frequent causes for car accidents, prominent on the list are a wide variety of activities which can be considered negligent behavior. For example, driving while using a phone to talk or text is a causing factor in many car crashes. Other negligent choices such as driving while overly tired or even while intoxicated can and do lead to car accidents.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol may be considering any of these as potential causes for a fatal car crash which recently occurred in Kershaw County. The multiple vehicle accident left two individuals dead and two others injured. The accident happened when a car heading northbound on US Highway 1 crossed over the center line, where it collided with a pickup truck and then another car.

The drivers of the two cars were killed in the accident, leaving a passenger of the second car and the driver of the pickup truck with serious injuries. The injured were transported to local hospitals to receive treatment for their injuries. The extent of their injuries, as well as their current statuses, is unknown at this time.

In accidents such as these, those who lost family members or were seriously injured regularly consult with legal experts to determine what their options are. For instance, it may be the case that a negligent driver could be held financially liable to cover costs for pain and or suffering, loss of wages, cost of medical bills or car repairs and, in worst case scenarios, funeral costs.
