South Carolina man killed, wife hurt in interstate highway wreck

A 54-year-old man from Columbia, South Carolina, was killed earlier this month when his car overturned in an effort to avoid another car. The man's wife, the driver of the car, and another passenger were wearing seatbelts and suffered minor injuries. The victim, however, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the GMC Yukon as it overturned.

The car crash occurred on a Saturday afternoon on Interstate 20 near Columbia, South Carolina. According to reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver of the GMC swerved to avoid a speeding white sedan that pulled into her lane. Her evasive action caused her vehicle to roll. The Highway Patrol is continuing to seek information from people who witnessed the incident and are still working to identify the white sedan and its driver.

For those injured in a car accident, or for the survivors of those who are killed in a wreck, it may seem as if life has turned upside-down. Things that were previously taken for granted, such as waking up without pain or driving a familiar car to work, can seem like distant memories. Insurance companies often want to settle claims as quickly as possible and for as little as possible, without regard to the well-being of the victims.

In cases such as these, the assistance of an attorney who is experienced in auto accidents and taking on insurance companies is a must. An attorney can fight for your rights to work toward the compensation you deserve to get your life back on track.
