Car crash in Greenville County kills Indiana woman

Although most drivers take many precautions to protect themselves against an accident on the road, nobody ever wants or expects one to happen to them. The slightest slip on the road or oversight of a traffic law can lead to devastating consequences and permanently alter the lives of those involved, including family members not even on the scene at the time. Such is the case for an Indiana family mourning the loss of one of their own after a fatal car accident in Greenville County recently.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:28 a.m. at Farrs Bridge Road and Old Farrs Bridge Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol states that a minivan was driving on Highway 183, when an SUV crossed the center line, causing a head-on collision. The Greenville County coroner's office says the 35-year-old female minivan driver died of blunt force trauma from the crash. She had been visiting family in the upstate area before the accident.

The Easley SUV driver was taken to the hospital, and the investigation remains ongoing. Whether or not he is facing charges was not released in initial media reports. The video footage available with initial media reports appeared to have been taken very soon after the accident and shows horrific damage to the front ends of both vehicles involved in the head on collision. If the driver is determined to be negligent in this case, he may also face extensive civil litigation in the matter of wrongful death and property damage litigation.
